For John, donations provided the gift of breath and a new chance at life.
COPD was winning a war against John’s lungs. Doctors performed lung reduction surgery, removing portions of both of his lungs. Their goal was to remove the diseased tissue that was taking over. Lung reduction surgery was a last chance effort for John.
John arrived at RML on a ventilator, a machine assisting his body to take each breath. Through hard work and determination from both John and RML staff, he slowly learned to breathe on his own again. He also started to gain mobility and teach his muscles to make the movements that we too often take for granted.
Today, John is living an active, healthy life because of your support.
