Choosing an LTACH: Take a Tour

Tour RML

Being referred to RML or another long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) can feel overwhelming. You are focused on finding the right level of care for your loved one. Take the stress out of choosing an LTACH by touring the hospital and asking key questions to make sure the environment is right for you.

It’s difficult to experience the quality of care and compassion provided by RML via the internet or a brochure. On a tour, you are guided through the patient care areas and have the opportunity to interact with staff from a variety of disciplines and ask questions.

An on-site tour gives us an opportunity to demonstrate the type of work we do while letting you experience it firsthand.

What type of questions should you ask when touring RML or another LTACH?

  1. Is RML similar to a traditional hospital, rehab center or nursing home?
  2. Will my loved one see the doctor every day?
  3. What rehab services are available? How often?
  4. Are all rooms private?
  5. What support services are offered to patients and families?
  6. How long do patients stay at RML?
  7. Where do patients go when they leave RML?

Tours are available without appointment at RML’s Chicago and Hinsdale campuses seven days a week from 9 AM – 9 PM.
