Mission Critical: Our COVID-19 Response

Patient and Staff Safety Is Our Highest Priority as We Accept COVID Patients

In support of our mission to provide the right care at a critical time, RML Specialty Hospital is accepting patients with COVID-19. As one of the largest ventilator-weaning hospitals in the country, we believe this is the right thing to do for our community as we fight this pandemic.

RML Specialty Hospital continues to keep the safety of our patients as our top priority. We are practicing universal masking in the facilities per the CDC guidelines, actively screening our staff for fevers, as well as keeping our COVID-positive patients in the separate, closed-off unit with dedicated staff.

Our highest priority at this important time: the safety of our patients and staff.

To ensure everyone’s safety and to provide the best possible health care to our current patients and those newly admitted with COVID-19, we are following the CDC guidelines and the comprehensive plan developed by the experts on our COVID-19 Clinical Task Force.

    • COVID Patient Unit: We will admit a limited number of COVID-positive patients to our COVID Unit (CCU). They will be cared for on an isolated unit for the protection of all of our patients.
    • Staff Training and Preparation: The physicians and clinical staff have received specialized training and have access to all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including N95 masks, gloves, and gowns. They will be monitored twice daily by our Employee Health Department for fever and other symptoms.
