Stroke Rehabilitation
The Stroke Rehabilitation Program at RML offers highly specialized care for patients whose stroke recovery is challenged by medical complications. Post-stroke patients who remain on a ventilator or dialysis, or those with such issues as pneumonia, respiratory failure, or complex wounds benefit from the expertise of RML’s team.
Led by physicians specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Stroke Rehabilitation Team includes physical, occupational and speech therapists experienced in caring for patients with complex medical needs. At any given time, nearly half of the patients at RML are recovering from a stroke compounded by medical complications, making RML one of the region’s most experienced in the field.
Working in parallel with other clinical specialists providing care, the team creates an individualized rehabilitation plan and integrates rehabilitation into the patient’s daily activities. The ultimate goal is to maximize each patient’s recovery.
